Chapman Launches ARB Gundy Defence

Current ARB Australian Championship co-leaders Clayton Chapman and Adam McGuire #15 have finished a treacherous day one of the 2024 ARB Gundy 500 with a 41.9 second lead.

In wet slippery conditions, defending Gundy champion Chapman finished today’s two 83km laps from first on the grid, holding off a spirited Danny Brown and George Apted #4 on a day of high attrition and drama.

Crossing in third outright, 3.08 mins behind Brown was Dale Martin and Adrian Rowe #5, with another former champ Aaron James #93, and Class 1 spearhead Jason Richards #119 rounding out Saturdays top five at Round 3 of the ARB Australian Off Road Racing Championship.

In the class battles, Queensland Class 8 hard charger Christian Trusz #816, current co championship leader Beau Robinson #1113, club president Jamie Knight #401, Stuart Chapman #1014, Kane Jones #637, Michael Orr #515, Hank Parker #798, and Brendan Forssman #202 all head their respective battles.

Notables to not finish today’s two lap section included Andy Brown #1142, Michael Zacka #1151, Hannah Bentley #1118, Kye Floyd #1141, Brayden Mifsud #1026, Ryan Taylor #24, Owen Ward #801, Michael Ranson #507, David Loughnan #104, Kye Camilleri #34, Rohan Williams #29, and John Smith #445.
